GENERAL INFORMATION FOR PERFORMERS...

AUDITION & FEES

Audition form and $50 non-refundable deposit due at audition February 16th.
$100 balance is due no later than March 15th.

We need to get costumes ordered and underway, deposits for theater and scenery rental paid, etc. If you need more time, please speak directly to Mrs. Day. All families are required to volunteer in some capacity (see audition form), if you absolutely cannot or will not pitch in, then there is a $75 opt out fee. The volunteer position assignments will be posted in early May. If you are unclear about your duties please speak directly to Mrs. Day or the volunteer coordinators from the guild. It is VERY important for the show to run smoothly that everyone know and do what they are supposed to be doing. ONLY backstage volunteers will be allowed backstage and in the dressing rooms once we get to the 30 minute call. If you are uncomfortable with leaving your dancer under someone else’s charge then you should sign up to be the supervisor for their group.

PERFORMANCE DATE:

DRESS REHEARSAL

(at theater) Friday June 13th 6-8:30

REHEARSALS:

All rehearsals are required (see rehearsal schedule). It is also required that all dancers maintain the following MINIMUM technique attendance-prepertory levels 1 class/week, academy levels 2 classes/week, company levels 3 classes/week. If you must miss a rehearsal you need to call the studio ASAP. Dancers are responsible for knowing any missed choreography and must catch up by meeting with a fellow dancer or a private lesson BEFORE the next rehearsal. The director reserves the right to cut dancers without refund for poor attendance.

COMMUNICATION

**KEEP YOUR EYE ON YOUR E-MAIL AND THE BULLETIN BOARD FOR NEWS AND INFORMATION!! IT IS KEY THAT ALL PARENTS AND DANCERS ARE COMPLETELY AWARE OF WHAT IS GOING ON AND STAY INVOLVED!

COSTUMES

Costuming is provided by ABAC. Fittings will take place at rehearsals. Our costumes are very valuable to us so please take good care of them and return them neatly to their hangers. No eating is allowed in costumes. A $30 dry cleaning fee will be charged to any dancer who gets food or make-up on their costume-so be careful!
Tights, shoes, and undergarments must be purchased by the dancer. The performance tights are available through the studio, (see order form) they are a dark pink and have a seam up the back. Flat shoes must be leather, pointe shoes are expected to be clean with tidy ribbons. Dance undergarments are available at the dance stores. Panties should not be worn under costumes!
Hair styles will be established for the various roles and details will be given in May. Remember that make-up for stage is heavier than regular make-up and includes a minimum of powder, eye shadow, eyeliner, blush, mascara, lip liner, and lipstick in a brownish red. Complete stage make-up kits with colors selected by Mrs. Day can be purchased through ABAC.

FUNDRAISING...

The guild will be organizing fundraisers to help pay the production fees of our performance. Everything goes to support the cause and we REALLY hope to get 100% participation in the fundraisers!
